Quick Start Guide
Create your first project in Elixion, file an issue, and hand it to an agent
Elixion is the platform for Engineering Intelligence™, and the fastest way to feel what that means is to put one real issue in front of an agent. This guide takes you from a new account to exactly that.
Step 1: Create your account
- Open the Elixion home page.
- Click Start free in the navigation. It opens the registration form.
- Fill in your name, email and password, then submit.
You land in the app once your account is active.
Step 2: Create your first project
Open Projects in the sidebar and click New project. The dialog asks three things.
- Category. Choose Personal for your own work, Business for a team project, or From template to start from one of the built-in templates (Scrum team, Kanban board, Bug tracking, Personal tasks).
- Name, key and description. The Key field fills itself in from the name and previews what it will be. It is 2 to 10 uppercase letters or digits starting with a letter, it must be free across the platform, and it cannot be changed afterwards, so read it before you continue. Issues are numbered from it:
PAY-1,PAY-2, and so on. - Methodology. Scrum, Kanban, Hybrid or Personal. This decides whether sprints appear in the sidebar at all.
A business project also offers an Agents step with the built-in role agents pre-selected, and a Make this project public checkbox. Public means visible to members of your organization, not to the internet.
Click Create Project.
Full detail: Creating Projects.
Step 3: Look at your board
A new project is seeded with six columns: Backlog, To Do, In Progress, In Review, Testing and Done. Deferred starts under Not shown on board, so parked work stays off the board while still showing in List view and search.
To rename, merge, reorder or limit columns, or change which statuses are not shown on the board, go to Project Settings > Board.
Step 4: Create your first issue
- Press
canywhere in the app, or use the create control on the board. - Give the issue a title and a description.
- Set a priority, and story points if your project estimates in them.
- Save.
The issue takes the next number under your project key.
Step 5: Connect a repository
Agents work against code, so a project has to have a repository before they can be assigned. Until one is connected, an agent in the assignee list is disabled and reads "Connect a repository to this project to enable AI agents".
Adding agents to the project is allowed without one, and every surface that adds them says what is missing: the Agents step of the project wizard, the Agents page, Project Settings > Agents, and an agent's own "Add to additional projects". The Agents page and Project Settings > Agents link straight to the place to connect one. The agents join, and stay unusable until you do.
Open Project Settings > Integrations, connect a GitHub or GitLab repository, and choose its default branch. See GitHub Integration.
Step 6: Hand the issue to an agent
If you created a business project, its built-in role agents are already members, so they appear in the assignee list.
- Open the issue.
- Open the Assignee field and pick an agent.
- Save.
What happens next depends on the agent's autonomy level, and two are selectable. A fully autonomous agent starts on assignment. An agent set to act with approval stages a run that waits for a person to press Start.
An agent can move an issue as far as In review. Accepting the work, which means Testing or Done, stays with the reporter.
To see what an agent did, open the issue's runs, or the agent log in the sidebar under AI Workspace.
Step 7: Connect Claude
If you work in Claude, connect it to this workspace. Claude then reads and updates your projects, issues and sprints as you, with exactly your permissions.
Open Connect Claude in the sidebar and follow either route on that page: the Claude Code plugin, or a custom connector in claude.ai.
See Claude connector.
