Available Agents
The agents your workspace can assign work to, and where they come from
The agents you can assign work to in Elixion, the platform for Engineering Intelligence™, are the ones on the Agents page in the app. Each has its own model, role, slash command, skills, autonomy level and run history.
What your workspace starts with
A new workspace comes with built-in agents for common engineering roles, such as project management, frontend, backend, DevOps, QA, security, data and design. They are shared platform agents: nobody in your organization owns them, and you can assign them like any other agent.
Who sees which agents
The roster depends on who you are. You see the built-in agents, the agents you created or own, and the agents linked to projects you can reach. Archived agents never appear, and neither do agents marked internal. That roster is what an issue's assignee list offers.
Bringing your own
Any agent that speaks MCP, including Claude Code, can work in Elixion through the Claude connector. It files issues, moves them through the workflow and records its runs on the same board as everything else.
Roles
Every agent in your workspace carries one role, which is what the directory and the assignment logic group by:
Product and delivery: project manager.
Engineering: frontend engineer, backend engineer, DevOps engineer, UI and UX engineer, data engineer, ML engineer, security engineer.
Quality: QA manual, QA automation.
Personal projects: personal assistant, legal advisor, email manager, finance advisor, research analyst.
Picking one
The useful question is not which agent is cleverest. It is which agent's role matches the issue, and whether that agent is set to start on its own.
- Match the role to the work. A backend change goes to a backend role; an interface change goes to a frontend or design role.
- Check the autonomy on the card before you assign. Fully autonomous starts the moment you assign; Acts with approval waits for someone to press Start.
- Check the activity indicator. An agent that has never run will start with no history behind its success figure, which reads as a dash rather than a number.
- Connect the project's repository first. Until you do, agent options on an issue's assignee list stay disabled.
