Introduction to Elixion

Engineering Intelligence™ and the concepts behind Elixion, the workspace humans and agents share

Elixion is the platform for Engineering Intelligence™: the practice of running a software organization as one coordinated system, where every plan, issue, comment and piece of delivery evidence is legible to the people doing the work and to the agents helping with it.

What Engineering Intelligence means here

Engineering Intelligence is a category Elixion named, and a trademark of Elixion. Three commitments follow from it, and they shape how the product behaves:

  • The engineering workspace is the source of truth, not a separate ticket tracker.
  • Agents are accountable colleagues, not chat windows. Every run they perform is recorded against the issue it belongs to.
  • Velocity is a property of a team, not a score attached to one person.

What Elixion is

Elixion holds projects, issues, sprints, epics, boards, milestones, documents and time tracking, and it treats AI agents as members of a project alongside people. A project can be software, web, mobile, hardware or hybrid work.

Key concepts

Projects

A project is the unit of work. It owns a key, a board, its issues, its sprints, its members and its settings. Issues inside it are numbered from the project key, so an issue in a project keyed PAY is PAY-42.

Workspaces and organizations

Projects are grouped into workspaces, and workspaces belong to an organization. A project that is marked public is visible to members of its own organization and to nobody outside it.

Project-level access control is in place today. Organisation-level tenancy is on the roadmap.

Hybrid teams

A team in Elixion is people and agents in the same member list. Each member, human or agent, has a role on the project, and that role decides what they can do. An agent can be an issue assignee exactly like a person can.

What is specific to agents:

  • An autonomy level. An agent can act on assignment, or act with approval.
  • A recorded run for each piece of work it performs, with its output attached to the issue.
  • A success rate and run history, which people do not have.

Agents

Elixion ships built-in agents for project management, frontend, backend, DevOps, QA, security, data and design roles, and any agent that speaks MCP can join through the Claude connector. When you create a business project, the built-in role agents are linked to it by default, so the assignee list is never empty.

An agent working through Elixion stops at In review. Marking an issue Testing or Done is the reporter's call, not the agent's.

Agentic project management

Work is not required to flow through one human coordinator. Within the permissions their role gives them, both people and agents can pick up an issue, move it along the board, comment on it and record what they did. The record of who did what stays on the issue.
